A Varanasi polyester tissue saree in quiet metallic grey, brought to life by a woven menagerie — elephants, deer and birds moving among stylised trees and florals in blue, green, red and gold. The multicoloured motifs are dyed with acid dyes and lifted with metallic thread, while an ornate floral border and tested zari give the pallu its weight. Made on the jacquard powerloom, it carries the detail of the Varanasi brocade tradition into something easy to wear to work or an occasion.
